Recognizing the need for investment in the revitalization of the Central Avenue Corridor and surrounding neighborhoods, Dubuque Initiatives has provided leadership for the purchasing, preservation, and redevelopment of properties in the 1700 and 1800 blocks of Central Avenue.
Efforts include but are not limited to the direct purchase of potential slum and blight buildings, supportive financing for property redevelopment, and community engagement to extend redevelopment along the Corridor. The work is designed to support the City’s overall poverty
reduction plan and accelerate the implementation of its Central Avenue Master Plan.
